Sprockets in Schools

Sprockets is available to run school cycling as an external provider.  Typically sessions are run weekly in term time and focus on active fun to increase skills, confidence and performance.   Depending on the age group of the club and the  wishes of the school, sessions involving mountain bike skills, racing or on-road cycling can be included. Sessions can be in curriculum, or run as an after-school club

In primary schools, clubs build confidence and skills to enable most children to be ready and able to undertake Local Authority provided Bikeability courses. In Secondary Schools, knowledge skill and confidence is built beyond Bikeability to introduce students to cycling for recreation, travel or competition.

Coaching in school clubs is done in an informal but structured style to improve bike handling and fitness.   They promote cycling as a fun and active sport, recreation or method of travel whilst building skills for life.
